Here are some of the more common cases that patients need treated:

Crowding

1341

Crowding occurs when the teeth have insufficient space to erupt. When left untreated, crowded teeth have an increased risk of plaque accumulation, tooth decay and gum disease.

Spacing

Spacing is a condition commonly caused by missing teeth or a tooth size/shape issue. Spacing should be corrected to maintain the health of your gums and improve your ability to chew.

Overbite

1339

An overbite occurs when the upper teeth overlap the lower teeth. This condition can lead to gum problems or irritation and wear on the lower teeth. Patients with this condition are also more prone to a traumatic injury.

Crossbite

A crossbite presents when the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth. This malocclusion can cause wear of the teeth, gum recession and potential bone loss. An untreated crossbite can affect jaw growth and lead to permanent, unwanted changes in the face.

Underbite

1336

An underbite occurs when the lower teeth are ahead of the upper teeth. This orthodontic issue is typically caused by a skeletal growth problem, and if left uncorrected, the growth of the upper jaw may be stunted. Normal function is impaired in patients with this condition and tooth wear may result.

Open Bite

An open bite occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not overlap. This condition is predominately caused by a habit (such as thumb sucking or tongue thrusting) or jaw growth pattern, and it can cause difficulty in chewing and speaking.
